Ptarmigans revisited

Here is the developed version of the ptarmigans I talked about a couple of weeks ago. In fact there is very little white in this painting although both the birds and the snow are actually white. It is the fading mid day light that is pulling our leg. But the difficult thing was to counterchange the birds against the background without removing too much of the snow. It is still the Arctic in winter.

This watercolor is exquisite! The different white tones, the composition, and the gentleness of pencil drawing are very good for me. It enchants to me! All the best
