So I painted the background and also darkened the foreground shadows, as well as added some detail to the grasshopper and the bird's face. Yes, this is in the Barranco de la Cazuela that I painted a few weeks ago. Now it's time for a break. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I made the foreground this morning. Now that it's drying I am obviously writing a new blogpost and when that's done I'll go back to the studio and do the background. Talk to you later!

Rock pipit

This bird means a lot to me because it inhabits my favourite biotope rocky coasts, but also because it's part of why I love rocky coasts. It's difficult to explain. You have to experience it yourself.

Christmas hut

Kumba and his new friends made a traditional Christmas hut of palm leaves. Bene showed me how to plait the leaves which I guess is the old way of building houses in Lomé, now a completely modern city.
