Shadows

Last I added the shadows made by different mixtures of ultramarine, raw sienna, burnt sienna and ivory black. I tried to get a bit of diversity to the shapes and colors of the shadows and make the different shadows merge on the paper so they don't look like cardboard cut-outs.

Hi Mans, I really love the atmosphere and light you gave to the picture, but I see the tree trunks have lost their identity in the last phase, looking more like a natural wall of earth with shadows playing on it. Or is it the scanning?

I've been thinking about that. It's a giant redwood trunk but it doesn't really look round this way. I'll probably repaint it some time and also change a few other things while I'm at it: the background is too dry and I could use more colour on the figures, more saturated colours I mean.
