Arctic tern

This is a remaking of a summer sketch. For some reason I find summer light easier to paint in winter, maybe because I'm longing for it, as for these wonderful birds whos crisp calls and swift flight are an excellent accent to the waves and the heat haze.

Can`t believe that I`m the first to comment..As always I admire the simplicity of the strokes in your paintings. It is rather a feature present more or less in the work of Scandinavian artists, but you brought it in an other level..

Thanks a lot for your comments!
I've never thought about simplicity of brushstrokes as a Scandinavian thing but it's an interesting thought. Simplicity is what I strive for and admire in other artists, so this is really a compliment that makes me happy. Thanks again!

Great little study! Love the composition, this kind of thing is something I really enjoy looking at.

Mistakes are almost always of a sacred nature. Never try to correct them. On the contrary: rationalize them, understand them thoroughly. After that, it will be possible for you to sublimate them. See the link below for more info.
