Interview

I have had the pleasure of being interviewed by Al Kline with Featured E-Magazine. It's great to be able to reach a new audience this way. Thanks, Al!

Måns, I really enjoyed the interview. I'm glad that you've been getting this kind of attention as I find your work inspiring as well as enjoyable. Your paintings have a luminosity that reminds me of Trevor Chamberlain's work.

You really know how to make me happy, Oscar! Trevor Chamberlain is one of my heroes. My exwife bought me a book about color mixing twenty years ago or so. Chamberlain had made a few of the paintings in it and I can never stop looking at them. He lets the same value merge so there is no border between the boat and the beach, and the shrouds are nothing but illusions. He is an anormous source of inspiration. Thanks, Oscar!

Your welcome. Trevor Chamberlain is fantastic. His work has a dreamlike feel which draws one in. I've always been curious about his process and have read up on it, but I lean too much to a Quentin Blake/Robert Andrew Parker approach to color application. But that's the nice thing about art. A person can draw one way and enjoy the work of someone with a totally opposite approach.

Indeed. I admire a lot of watercolor painters with totally different ways of applying color, like Harald Wiberg, Trevor Chamberlain, John Yardley, Liu Yi ...
